The castro dates from the XNUMXth century BC, while the tombs found in the necropolis date from the XNUMXrd – XNUMXth centuries AD. This Galician settlement dates back to the VIIIth century BC. and was a means of communication and exchange between the Mediterranean and Europe, long before the Romanization of Galicia.

Archaeologists are looking for the remains of the Monastery of Santa María de Lanceata, cited in medieval texts preserved in the archive of the cathedral of Santiago.
