The undisputed king of our gastronomy, as a good fishing municipality, is seafood and fish.
To the seafood we must add those from the garden, vegetables and vegetables, as well as Galician meat with designation of origin. In this section we cannot ignore the Galician empanada, nor the famous Santiago tart, as well as the quality of the bread and cheeses.
Without a doubt, there is nothing better to accompany these delicacies than a Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin wine, made in one of the wineries spread throughout the municipality.
The Rías Baixas Wine Route also runs through the municipality of Sanxenxo. This route has great prestige and is made up of a wide range of quality wine tourism services. It is an excellent way to discover the secrets of this wine with fruity and floral aromas, and which has a unique flavor characterized by its softness and freshness, with the right degree of acidity.
Since 2010, a “Sanxenxo DeGustaTapas” Tapas Contest has been held annually, which has been very well received, and in each edition the response from the public is greater.
Throughout the year there are also gastronomic days dedicated to different local products.
