Chapel of O Santo
Salnés » Sanxenxo » Heritage and culture » Chapel of O Santo

From the 16th century and with a single rectangular nave. This chapel is a beautiful example of the Galician architecture from the late fifteenth century.

The plant is rectangular and on its main façade it has a small shield where oxen are represented that symbolize those that the abbot of Nantes donated at the time of its construction so that it could be carried out. It is somewhat deteriorated by the passage of time.

The façade is topped with an ornate belfry con dos pinnacles with ball and a simple cross. One of the sides of the chapel is reinforced with buttresses, while on the other the roof, finished in tile, rises approximately one meter sobre the body of the church, leaning on a series of pilasters. Below this flight there are some small and simple stone benches attached to the temple. This chapel is dedicated to Blessed San Juan de Navarrete.
